The very fact that you are here on this page now, means you are building upon your communication currency. By firstly starting with one area of communication you can improve today. Then next, working on other areas of communication you improve in turn.

The result of your communication evaluation test has shown that the area you need to improve on is:

Influence

Whether you are communicating with family, children, a business partner, a board of directors, a customer, a charitable group or a large audience of people this is a skill you must learn to master. It is a massive subject in its own right and one that has been covered in books, CD programmes and seminars across the world for decades.

Some people are uncomfortable with the term ‘influencing’, and if that is the case for you, then you may wish to consider a re-frame such as - ‘you are connecting with someone in such a way that you can help them make decisions that will ultimately benefit their lives in the future.’ As long as what you are doing is coming from a place of integrity, then influencing is an essential and powerful skill to develop.

To help put this in context, you can use your influencing skills in some of the following ways:

To persuade someone to give to your charity
To encourage someone to make a positive change in their life
To show people the benefits of your new product
To help someone to join you on a new venture
To influence someone to lend money to your business
To stop someone doing something detrimental to their health or their life

You can use it literally in any situation




So what can you do in order to improve this area of your communication immediately?

To immediately improve this area of communication, I encourage you to focus on re-framing what influence means to you. I believe that some people have a negative attachment to the term influence because it has been used in the past to persuade people to do things that are not in their best interest. That is not the purpose of influence here.

Remember, this is about integrity, honesty and authenticity and if your message is coming from that place, then you should not be afraid to influence somebody to help them make a decision that will be for the greater good of theirs and your life.

For example, when I host a ‘Communicating With Impact™’ live event, I have to influence people to do things they may not typically be comfortable with, for example, coming on stage and talking to 100+ people for 2 minutes on a completely random topic, with just 60 seconds preparation. To master that skill is in their best interest - but sometimes it takes using influence to make it happen for them

What can you do to master this area and your communication as a whole?

Now improving one area is different from total communication mastery. This is because I refer to this area of communication as a ‘component’. This component is then made up of additional ‘sub-components’.

You can see this clearly in the following diagram:

As you can see from the diagram, your result is just one component out of 38 components. This diagram is the complete system - which I refer to on live events as ‘Dr Ro’s Total Communication Mastery System™’.

I know what you are thinking, Woah! I just thought communication was about talking confidently in front of people.

This is what most people think. And this is because communication is fundamentally not taught. Not taught in schools, not taught in companies and not taught as a complete system like this anywhere.

For example, to truly master influence. You will need to learn, practice and regularly implement the following sub-components:

>>Social Proof
>>NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
>>Mind Reading
>>Sales

Make a note of these, as you will then know what to next focus on after you have improved on influence.

When you commit to improving your communication, what can you expect to happen?

Remember I said, this skill is not taught - certainly not to the level it deserves. Think about it, we are taught to read, write and speak. This is very different from being taught how to communicate with impact.

What does communicating with impact mean? Let’s take influence for example. Have you ever been in the scenario where you have tried to sell your product/service, given a talk, attended a meeting or a been apart of a family gathering and felt like you just could not get anyone to do what you wanted? 

Maybe when selling your product or service, you have no examples of social proof to share with them, to help close the deal.

Maybe when trying to persuade someone to do something you get stuck int the details and can’t get them to see the bigger picture.

Maybe you are in a business negotiation but have no idea what they are thinking.

Maybe when selling your partner on an idea, you never get your way.

Now imagine if you mastered influence. Imagine you knew how to create an influence. You understood how to use the sub-components - social proof, NLP, mind reading and sales.

How would these common scenarios now feel? How would they play out in your business, job, family life, relationship?

What impact would this have on your finances, dating life, child-parent relationship and career progression?

This is what it means to Communicate With Impact. 

To create an influence and have so many communication tools in your toolbox - that you blow people away, you wow them, you leave an amazing impression. You become unforgettable.

Hopefully, by now you can see, by not only mastering influence but by working on communication as a total package, you will see an increase in how many customers you attract, how easily you get a job promotion, how you get a greater connection with your kids, how your relationships and dating life improves, how you increase finances, improve negotiations and more. In reality, communication is so foundational that you will see improvements everywhere.
